Just after the team has arrived at the stadium and before the public has started entering the stands, a player's father calls him to wish him good luck for the match. The player tells his dad that the pitch is in a terrible state, there is torrential rain and a howling wind blowing from behind the northern posts and, as a result, it looks like it will be a low-scoring match. His team aren't used to these conditions and are not really "up for it".
